A Slice of Reality
Kevin S. Martin is inspired by nature, by his surroundings and by moods. He channels all this into his works, yet they remain abstract, open to the viewer and with manifold possible interpretations. Only the format makes this clear. He prefers to paint sections, and uses this to hint at the relative nature of our perception. Like our senses, a picture is limited in size and scope. Using diptyches and triptychs, Kevin builds bridges to master this limitation.
